Job description

JOB SUMMARY: To provide support to users of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) equipment, software and services, and assist in the operation of the ICT Service Desk as required.





Information Technology


(1) Provide support to corporate computer servers/systems covering routine housekeeping/ maintenance duties, including backup tape changing/checking, configuration management, change management and problem management.

(2) Enrol customers on corporate systems, as directed, fully testing functionality prior to release.

(3) Provide support in the operation of networked computer systems including system shut-down and start-up procedures.

(4) Undertake acceptance testing, software loading and configuration, and troubleshooting of ‘desktop’ end-user Information & Communications Technology (ICT) equipment.

(5) Undertake installation and commissioning of ICT equipment in the users work area, including basic familiarisation of the equipment with the user.

(6) Be conversant with the principles, configuration and use of the Trust’s standard computer operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows and UNIX technologies.

(7) Commission,deploy and support a range of mobile devices including the Apple range of products and dictation equipment.
