The NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pathology Data Administrator to join their dynamic healthcare team. As a Pathology Data Administrator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing the accurate and efficient flow of pathology-related data within their organisation. Your attention to detail, technical proficiency, and commitment to upholding data integrity will directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and the advancement of medical research.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Data Entry and Management: Accurately input, update, and maintain pathology data records in compliance with established protocols and guidelines. Ensure data completeness and integrity through thorough validation processes.

  • Data Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to provide insights into key pathology metrics, trends, and performance indicators. Prepare presentations and summaries for management and medical staff.

  • Record Keeping: Organise and manage electronic and physical pathology records, ensuring they are easily accessible and retrievable as per regulatory and departmental standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other administrative staff, medical professionals, and laboratory personnel to ensure smooth data coordination and facilitate interdisciplinary communication.

  • Documentation: Document procedures, guidelines, and best practices related to pathology data management. Contribute to the development and updates of standard operating procedures.

  • Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Healthcare Administration, Medical Informatics, Health Information Management, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Experience: Prior experience in healthcare data administration, particularly in a pathology or laboratory setting, is highly advantageous.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using data management software, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with database management principles and data validation techniques

  • LIMS: Have a good understanding of a LIMS system and can show proven examples
