Darren started his career in hotel management moving into hospitality recruitment and then found his niche in IT recruitment with a global IT Recruitment company in London. Expanding his skills in business development Darren quickly built life-long relationships with many of his clients which continue today.
Relocating home to the north west Darren met his business partner and set up IT works in 2004. On the back of this success of this they expanded into the US and went on to set up both Populo and Mitec Consulting to focus on Healthcare and ERP business transformation. He provides strong mentorship to the teams and loves the camaraderie of a young vibrant ambitious sales floor.
On a day-to-day basis Darren continues to drive the strategic vision and planning. Working alongside clients discovering their requirements he matches these to unique associate teams who successfully deliver client projects.
Supporting a local homeless charity is a passion of Darren’s. Lancaster & District Homeless Action (LDHA) provide support and care for homeless people in Darren’s home city of Lancaster. Since setting up the first bi-annual charity ball in 2014 Darren and the team at LDHA have raised in the region of £50k to support homeless people in the region.
In his spare time Darren is a fly fisherman and a Preston North End supporter who lives in hope of the Premiere League glory. He is also a lifelong cricket fan and spends his daily exercise with Floria his golden retriever walking the hills around South Cumbria .
