Case Study

A recent service IT Works Health Delivered was with a NHS Mental Health Organisation to assist with a cloud based telephony system installation. The customer was looking for the services of three skilled IT Engineers, with past experience of rolling out Telephony Hardware within a large NHS setting. I was tasked with recruiting a team of 3 experienced Engineers and a Project Manager who would work hand in hand with the Trust’s IT Manager and Deployment Team to guarantee a successful delivery. The project held huge risk due to being delivered across critical services during a peak in Covid-19.

As the Trust is made up of several satellite sites across the region, the Engineers were required to travel across the region collecting old handsets and kit that were due to be replaced, once live with the new system.

After speaking with the IT Manager about the requirements at great length, it was agreed that the priority was to find a forward-thinking, hands-on Project manager with extensive experience with previous Telephony Rollouts and then recruit three experienced Engineers around that Manager. I was confident that with my market knowledge and heavy links to the NHS IT Network, I was in a position to provide a quick and successful solution.

Within 48 hours I had put together a team of 3 Engineers and one strong IT Project Manager. Upon the system going live, the Engineers were responsible for providing 'at the elbow' training for the end users, and ensuring any technical issues were dealt with.

The deployment team were set a timescale of three months for the Telephony hardware to be rolled out and due to the quality of both Project Management and Engineer roll out work, the full roll out was delivered in just over 9 weeks.
