EPIC Project Manager

 

The EPIC EPR Project Manager will support the delivery of the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme, with a focus on implementing and optimising the EPIC system. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for managing one or more projects within the wider EPR programme, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality standards.

This role is critical in supporting the Trust’s digital transformation agenda and improving patient care through the effective deployment of EPIC.


Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead the planning and delivery of EPIC EPR project workstreams
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, and deliverables
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget
  • Coordinate activities across clinical, operational, and digital teams

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with clinicians, operational leads, and subject matter experts
  • Build strong relationships to support engagement and adoption
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and decision-making forums

Governance & Reporting

  • Apply NHS programme and project governance frameworks
  • Produce highlight reports, risk logs, and status updates
  • Escalate risks and issues appropriately to programme leadership

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues
  • Develop mitigation plans and ensure timely resolution
  • Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies)

Change Management

  • Support organisational change and user adoption activities
  • Work with training and communications teams to ensure effective rollout
  • Promote best practice and continuous improvement

Supplier & Partner Management

  • Work with EPIC representatives and third-party suppliers
  • Ensure deliverables meet agreed standards and timelines

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in project management within the NHS or healthcare sector
  • Experience delivering digital, IT, or EPR/EMR projects
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations
  • Experience working within structured project methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment
