EPR Programme Director

This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system, ensuring it meets the highest standards of efficiency, security, and patient care.

EPR Programme Director Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the implementation and optimisation of the EPR system, aligned with organisational goals and objectives.
    • Provide strategic direction and guidance to project teams and stakeholders throughout all phases of the programme.
  2. Programme Management:

    • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all activities related to the EPR programme, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Establish and maintain effective project governance structures, including steering committees, to monitor progress and mitigate risks.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including clinical staff, IT teams, executive leadership, and external vendors, to ensure alignment and support for the EPR programme.
    • Act as a liaison between various stakeholders to facilitate communication, address concerns, and drive consensus on project objectives and deliverables.
  4. Vendor Management:

    • Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to select, implement, and integrate EPR solutions that meet the organisation's needs and requirements.
    • Negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and oversee the delivery of products and services in accordance with established agreements.
  5. Change Management:

    • Develop and implement change management strategies to minimise resistance and maximise adoption of the EPR system among end-users.
    • Provide leadership and support to clinical and administrative staff throughout the transition process, including training, education, and user support initiatives.
  6. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data security standards, and industry best practices in the implementation and operation of the EPR system.
    • Establish and monitor quality assurance processes to evaluate system performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous enhancement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (X years) in leading large-scale EPR implementation projects within healthcare organisations.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and electronic health record systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, mitigate risks, and deliver results within established timelines and budgets.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, data privacy laws, and industry standards related to EPR systems.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) and/or healthcare IT (e.g., CHCIO) is desirable.
