About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic EPR (Electronic Patient Record) Programme Director to lead the successful delivery of a large-scale digital transformation programme. This role is pivotal in driving the implementation and optimisation of an EPR system, ensuring it delivers measurable improvements in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for the EPR programme from planning through to delivery and post-implementation optimisation
- Develop and execute programme strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory requirements
- Engage with executive stakeholders, clinical leaders, and external partners to ensure strong governance and collaboration
- Oversee programme budgets, timelines, risks, and resources, ensuring delivery within agreed constraints
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including clinical, technical, and operational workstreams
- Ensure effective change management, user adoption, and training strategies are in place
- Monitor programme performance using defined KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure contractual obligations are met
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience leading large-scale EPR or healthcare IT transformation programmes
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and digital health technologies
- Demonstrated leadership in complex programme delivery, including governance and risk management
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills at executive and board level
- Experience managing substantial budgets and cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of NHS frameworks, policies, or equivalent healthcare systems (preferred)
Desirable Skills
- Experience with major EPR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts)
- Background in change management and organisational transformation
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MSP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent)
