EPR Test Analyst

We are seeking an experienced EPR Test Analyst to support a major integration and expansion programme across an existing Electronic Patient Record (EPR) environment. This role is focused on ensuring the safe and high-quality enhancement of current functionality, new integrations, and improved interoperability across clinical and operational systems.

You will help ensure that changes and new capabilities introduced into the EPR are thoroughly tested, clinically safe, and aligned with organisational workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, scripts, and scenarios for new integrations, enhanced features, and expanded EPR modules.

  • Conduct functional, integration, regression, interface, and end-to-end workflow testing.

  • Validate interoperability across internal systems, external partners, and third-party applications.

  • Review change requests, requirements, and specifications to ensure they are testable and meet clinical and operational needs.

  • Support interface testing, including HL7/FHIR messaging, API-driven workflows, and data exchange validation.

  • Work collaboratively with technical, clinical, and supplier teams to understand workflows, dependencies, and impacts.

  • Use established tools to manage defects, track progress, and maintain clear testing documentation.

  • Contribute to risk assessments, quality assurance reporting, and continuous improvement in testing processes.

  • Provide testing support during release cycles, upgrades, and phased expansion activities.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Test Analyst within healthcare IT, ideally working on EPR integration, enhancement, or expansion projects.

  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and NHS processes (or equivalent healthcare environments).

  • Hands-on experience with structured testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, V-Model, ISTQB-aligned approaches).

  • Experience with interface and integration testing (e.g., HL7, FHIR, APIs, middleware).

  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM).

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, technical experts, and clinical stakeholders.

  • Experience with data validation or data flow troubleshooting is desirable.

  • ISTQB certification or similar is beneficial.
