LIMS Specialist

Overview
We are seeking an experienced LIMS Specialist with strong Clinisys WinPath expertise to support the optimisation, configuration, and ongoing management of laboratory information systems within a clinical laboratory environment. The role will focus on ensuring the effective operation of WinPath, supporting laboratory workflows, and delivering system improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for Clinisys WinPath, supporting day-to-day system administration and optimisation.

• Configure and maintain WinPath modules, including test setups, workflows, rules, and user access.

• Support the integration of WinPath with laboratory analysers, middleware, and external systems such as EPR/EHR platforms.

• Work closely with laboratory teams to understand operational needs and translate these into system configuration and improvements.

• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with IT teams and external vendors to resolve incidents.

• Support system upgrades, patches, and enhancements while ensuring minimal disruption to laboratory services.

• Ensure system configuration supports regulatory and quality standards relevant to clinical laboratories.

• Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on system functionality and best practices.

• Contribute to documentation, change control processes, and validation activities where required.

Required Experience

• Proven experience working with Clinisys WinPath LIMS in a clinical laboratory environment.

• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows across disciplines such as pathology, microbiology, haematology, or biochemistry.

• Experience configuring LIMS workflows, test codes, and system rules.

• Familiarity with system integrations including analysers, middleware, and hospital EPR/EHR systems.

• Experience supporting LIMS upgrades, testing, and validation.

• Ability to liaise effectively with laboratory staff, IT teams, and external vendors.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with other LIMS platforms or healthcare systems.

• Knowledge of laboratory data standards and messaging protocols (e.g., HL7).

• Experience supporting digital transformation or laboratory system implementations.
