Senior Integration Engineer

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Integration Engineer with a strong track record of architecting, developing, and delivering complex healthcare interoperability solutions across NHS environments. Extensive expertise in EPR migrations, patient portal implementations, electronic document exchange, and Shared Care Record integrations, with a focus on scalable design, automation, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop and implement large-scale healthcare integrations, including:

    • ePR migration programmes

    • Patient portal implementation

    • Electronic document exchange solutions

    • Shared Care Health Record (SHCR) data provision

    • In-house product design and development

  • Design and deliver multi-system HL7v2 integrations, including query/response lookups to NHS Spine.

  • Build and deploy document interfaces with intelligent filtering from source systems to downstream platforms, including:

    • eDMS solutions

    • NHS MESH

    • Regional Shared Care Record environments

  • Engage directly with NHS stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document project requirements, attending on-site where required.

  • Design robust integration architectures aligned to NHS interoperability standards and Trust-specific technical frameworks.

  • Produce detailed project scoping and labour estimates for both fixed-price and time-and-material engagements.

  • Provide out-of-hours support and conducted root cause analysis to ensure service continuity and rapid issue resolution.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Integration to enhance internal delivery processes and technical governance.

  • Implement version control strategies and mentored colleagues in development best practices.

  • CI/CD implementation and process optimisation

  • Healthcare interoperability architecture

  • Ideally experienced in integration engines such as Mirth Connect and Rhapsody
