Senior Project Manager

  • Develop, refine, and deliver comprehensive project strategies and documentation, including Final Business Cases (FBCs) and Project Initiation Documents (PIDs).

  • Plan and coordinate a wide range of complex activities, applying best practice project management methodologies and tools.

  • Communicate complex, sensitive, or contentious information effectively, achieving alignment and collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, promoting service enhancement even in the face of resistance to change.

  • Lead and facilitate workshops and presentations for large and varied audiences, ensuring engagement and clear communication.

  • Drive implementation of new processes, support collaborative working, and manage capacity planning initiatives.

  • Provide senior-level support within project delivery teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and effective issue escalation.

  • Engage with local and national partners — including ICS bodies, NHS teams, and third-sector organisations — to share, explain, and align on complex project plans.

  • Partner with operational staff to ensure their active involvement in shaping and developing services.

  • Communicate transparently with stakeholders, promoting trust and supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives.

  • Deliver difficult messages with professionalism while maintaining stakeholder engagement and confidence.

  • Monitor all aspects of project performance and business development, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively.

  • Integrate workforce development considerations - including training, planning, and recruitment - into all business and project initiatives.

  • Ensure that BAU transition, information governance, and cybersecurity documentation are fully in place before go-live.

  • Manage project budgets responsibly and in compliance with financial governance standards.

  • Analyse complex data and scenarios, developing practical options and mitigation strategies.

  • Oversee benefit identification, delivery, and transition to BAU to ensure lasting project impact.

  • Participate in programme and governance meetings, contributing to decision-making and progress reviews.

  • Produce standard project management deliverables, including highlight and exception reports.

  • Matrix-manage multidisciplinary delivery teams across operational and digital functions to ensure cohesive delivery.

  • Lead and support a peer-to-peer Project Manager community, promoting knowledge sharing and best practice across the programme.
