LIMS Tester

We are seeking an experienced LIMS Tester to support the testing and validation of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) implementation within a regulated laboratory environment. You will play a key role in ensuring the solution is thoroughly tested, fit for purpose, and compliant with quality and regulatory requirements before deployment.

Working closely with Business Analysts, Project Managers, Laboratory SMEs, Developers and vendors, you will execute end-to-end testing across system functionality, integrations, data migration and laboratory workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review and execute test scripts for LIMS functionality, workflows and business processes.
• Perform System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Regression Testing and End-to-End Testing.
• Validate laboratory workflows including sample registration, accessioning, testing, result entry, reporting and approvals.
• Test interfaces between LIMS and external systems including instruments, middleware, EPR/EMR, ERP and Order Communications.
• Verify data migration activities, ensuring data integrity and completeness.
• Log, track and manage defects through to resolution, working closely with developers and implementation teams.
• Produce clear test evidence and documentation to support validation and project governance.
• Support Computer System Validation (CSV) activities where required.
• Work with laboratory users to coordinate UAT and facilitate issue resolution.
• Participate in test planning, risk assessments and release readiness activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience testing LIMS platforms within regulated laboratory environments.
• Experience executing SIT, UAT, Regression and End-to-End testing.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and sample lifecycle management.
• Experience creating and maintaining test scripts, test plans and defect logs.
• Knowledge of data migration validation and interface testing.
• Experience working within GxP, GMP, GLP, ISO 15189 or UKAS regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Computer System Validation (CSV) documentation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with one or more LIMS platforms including LabWare, LabVantage, Clinisys WinPath, STARLIMS, Thermo SampleManager, Xybion or Sunquest.
• Knowledge of HL7, API or instrument interface testing.
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, HP ALM, TestRail or similar test management tools.
• SQL experience for data validation.
• Previous experience supporting LIMS implementations, upgrades or migrations
