PAS Consultant

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced PAS Consultant to support the optimisation and standardisation of Patient Administration System (PAS) processes across the Trust. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise on patient administration workflows, support operational teams, and work closely with the EPR programme to improve system utilisation, data quality, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and optimisation of PAS processes including patient registration, outpatient bookings, admissions, discharges, transfers, and waiting list management.
  • Work with operational and clinical teams to identify system issues and implement process improvements.
  • Support system configuration, testing, and deployment of PAS enhancements.
  • Provide expertise on RTT, elective recovery, and data quality requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops and document future-state processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Support UAT, end-user training, and go-live activities.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal digital teams to resolve system and process issues.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience working with NHS Patient Administration Systems within an acute Trust.
  • Strong understanding of outpatient, inpatient, elective care, and waiting list processes.
  • Experience supporting PAS optimisation, EPR implementations, or digital transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of NHS performance standards, including RTT and elective access targets.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and experience working with operational service leads.

Desirable

  • Experience of Oracle Health (Cerner), System C, or Lorenzo PAS environments.
  • Previous involvement in large-scale EPR programmes or Trust-wide PAS transformations.
