This September, we’re coming together as a team to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice, a charity that means a great deal to one of our colleagues and her family.
They have received incredible support, care, and understanding from Queenscourt during an unimaginably difficult time. Hearing how much of a difference this care has made inspired us all to get involved and do what we can to give back.
On Friday 5th September, we’ll be taking on the Guild Wheel challenge. The Guild Wheel is a 21-mile circular route around Preston, linking the city with the surrounding countryside through woodland, riverside and parkland. Together, we’ll be covering the full circuit as a team.
Queenscourt provides free, specialist palliative care for adults with advanced and life-limiting illnesses across West Lancashire, Southport, and Formby. They rely heavily on community support to continue their work, and every penny really does make a difference.
Just £2.50 could provide a special meal for a seriously ill patient, while £125 could cover the cost of a nurse’s shift on the in-patient unit, helping to relieve a patient’s pain and anxiety. With 96p of every £1 raised going directly to patient care, the impact of donations is immediate.
